Coffeeee
Dan came back from Seattle last night – just for the weekend, but even a short visit is a welcome one. He brought me back a couple pounds of coffee from Tully’s , the last independent Seattle-pedigreed coffee company. (cough-Starbucksisasellout-cough)
When I spent last summer in the U-district, I found the Tully’s there to be the best bet for much-needed caffeination. Maybe in the ‘states they’re considered just as over-branded as Starbucks, but to this lowly Canadian, they seemed a solid alternative.
Sitting down this morning with my freshly ground-and-perked cup, I was brought back to rainy afternoons, walking back to the sorority house slightly zombified, homesick and in desperate need of a better character arc, but quite content to be enjoying my medium full-fat café mocha.

Oh, that brings back memories!
I’ve seen places (indy coffee shops and bakeries) carry the “Tully” brand coffee, but that was the first stand alone shop I’d been of theirs.
